Gravity welcomes renowned mixologist Kurtis Bosley to the Gravity team

Gravity Drinks has announced that industry veteran and esteemed mixologist Kurtis Bosley has entered into part ownership with the drinks business.

Additionally, the founder of Oi Hospitality Group will also be the inaugural member of its newly established Flavour Panel, leveraging his experience in mixology and drinks creation.

“I’m thrilled to join Gravity Drinks at such an exciting time,” Kurtis Bosley said. “This is an opportunity to blend my passion for drink design with a forward-thinking brand, and I can’t wait to dive into the Flavour Panel to create something truly unique.”

The news comes at a time of ongoing momentum for Gravity as it enters its third year of business. Thus far, the company has maintained 100% year-on-year growth, with its latest Hard Soda Lemoncello innovation reportedly growing in popularity as a cleaner, lower-sugar lemon RTD trend across both kegged and canned formats.

Looking ahead, Gravity is hoping to further extend its East Coast market share across South Australia and Victoria.

“We are excited for what Kurtis will bring to Gravity now and in the future, taking our range of draught offerings and using them as a base for shared cocktails and adding to our packaged products with fun cocktail recipes at home,” Sales Director David Ward said. “Not to mention the world of future NPD.”

In addition to his role as founder of Oi Hospitality Group - which includes venues such as Banco Manly, Corretto Dee Why, and Ullo Pizza & Wine - and his popular Instagram account @cocktailsbykurtis which has garnered more than 45,000 followers globally, Kurtis Bosley is also the owner of BLOC Bottled Cocktails, a company he launched in 2023.

As the first member of Gravity’s Flavour Panel, Bosley will work closely with the existing team “to craft distinctive, trend-setting flavours that resonate with modern drinkers,” says the company, adding that it “is poised to benefit from Bosley’s visionary influence as it continues to expand its footprint in the market.”

Gravity has also indicated that further structural changes will follow, including a lineup of new investors, partners, and products to be announced in the near future. This builds upon its $1 million equity raise launched in March last year and the appointment of ex Coca-Cola Amatil and CUB Greg Mitchell as CEO.

Since launching in 2022, Gravity quickly succeeded in establishing itself as a leading figure in Australia’s RTD category, capturing an estimated 2% of the domestic hard seltzer market share within its first 12 months. This equates to a total of 192,000 cans sold and $900,000 revenue.

The company has previously stated it intends to occupy 10% of the hard seltzer market by summer of this year.
